The Amazing Spider Man Screenwriter ALREADY Writing Sequel
Let's hope the first entry in the reboot of the Spider-Man franchise, The Amazing Spider-Man, is good because it's screenwriter, James Vanderbilt, is already writing the sequel!
The writer first began working on Spider-Man 4 when Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire were on board, but after that fell apart, the studio kept him on board because [...]

Watch: Nick Cannon Gives Ridiculous Details About The Birth Of His Twins
Former Friends star Matthew Perry has released a statement announcing that he will be going away for a while in order to work on his addictions. Altho Perry‘s people insist that he has not suffered a relapse, they make clear that this month-long stint in rehab is part of his on-going recovery. You may know that Perry returned to TV recently in the ABC series Mr. Sunshine, so it’s possible that he is just making sure he stays clean so that he can return to the show when the new TV season starts up in the Fall.
Matthew Perry, who has struggled with prescription pills and alcohol in the past, is going back to a treatment facility as part of his ongoing recovery. The Friends star, 41, confirms the move in a statement that ends with a Chandler Bing-style dry quip. “I’m making plans to go away for a month to focus on my sobriety and to continue my life in recovery,” he says. “Please enjoy making fun of me on the World Wide Web.” Perry, who most recently appeared in Mr. Sunshine on ABC, was in rehab twice in 2001 and 1997. A source tells PEOPLE, “There was no relapse,” and that the actor plans to enter the facility shortly.
Making a joke in an announcement about rehab is a sure defense mechanism … but it also seems to imply that Matthew is trying to keep things as normal as possible by staying in control. Addiction is a lifelong battle and I wish him nothing but the greatest success. Here’s hoping his month away will foster his sobriety and afford him the fortitude to keep his addictions in check.

Check out the trailer (above) for Steven Soderbergh's Contagion, which revolves around a team of doctors trying to deal with the outbreak of a deadly disease.
We won't believe ANYONE who says they aren't feeling anxious after watching that trailer! Soooooo disturbing!

Hot Dude Of The Week: Seth Kuhlmann
It’s been a few weeks since we’ve seen photos of Britney Spears beau Jason Trawick here on the blog so you can imagine how happy I was to find new photos of Jason out and about here in SoCal this weekend. It would seem that Jason managed to pry himself away from his ladylove long enough for him to go on a mission to pick up some take out food:
I imagine that our dear Britney just wasn’t feeling up to venturing out in the cool LA weather and decided to send out her hot man to bring her back some food. Jason strikes me as a great boyfriend and I’m sure he was happy to oblige. As nice as it is to see Jason out and about all by his lonesome, I hope we get to see photos of Britwick out and about together … especially with Hallowe’en just a week away, I’d love to see what they are dressing up as for Hallowe’en this year.

The US Version Of ‘Skins’ Releases A Second Video Trailer
Very sad news for tech geeks to pass along today … Sony has announced that it will no longer produce their iconic Walkman portable cassette stereos after the current batch of gadgets sells out. Despite the fact that the Apple iPod has pretty much become THE standard in portable music players in recent years, the Sony Walkman will forever remain, IMHO, the most important portable music player of all time. I gotta say … I’m really sad to see the Walkman die :(
After more than 30 years of producing its Walkman portable cassette players, Sony said it’s ending sales of the Walkman. The final batch was produced in Japan in April, and no more will be produced as soon as the current run is sold out. Just over 200 million cassette Walkman players have been sold over the years since being first introduced in 1979. Sony will continue to make and sell CD- and MiniDisc-based Walkmans, as well as its latest flash-based devices. Cloned but Sony-branded Walkmans will continue to be made by Chinese makers in Asia and the Middle East. The Walkman is widely credited with pioneering the concept of personal, portable audio beyond the radio. It helped spur on the cassette as a popular format and also maintained interest in albums. Interest only began to fade in the 1990s when the Discman took over, and saw a more definite end when the iPod was in sight.
It makes sense that Sony would discontinue production of their portable cassette players, especially since cassettes will very soon be extinct themselves … but … this is still really sad news. I remember when I got my first Sony Walkman back in the mid-80s … man, I loved that thing so much. My favorite memories include me riding around the block on my bike with my Sony Walkman strapped to my waist as I listened to Madonna, Prince, Stacey Q, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam … man, those were the good ol’ days. The Sony Walkman was just as popular at the time as the Apple iPod is today … but, alas, it’s natural that the old has to make way for the new. At least Sony is keeping the “Walkman” name alive with it’s CD and MP3 players but, in all honesty, they aren’t true Walkman devices. I’ll miss the real Sony Walkman … especially since it feels like a part of my childhood has just died :(
